Fons Scheltema is a semi-professional driver racing Ferrari Challenge and the 24H Series for Kessel Racing. He competes in Ferrari Challenge's S class, driving Ferrari 488 and 296 Challenge cars in solo sprint racing across a multiclass grid that fields amateurs and professionals together. He holds an FIA Bronze grade, the amateur classification in endurance and GT racing. His rating of 2,889 places him in the semi-professional band.[1]

Scheltema has raced for five seasons from 2022 to 2026, with 44 starts in Ferrari Challenge yielding eight podiums and a single outing in the 24H Series, a multiclass endurance championship where he shared a GT3 car. In the current 2026 Ferrari Challenge season, he has taken one podium from five rounds so far and sits ninth in the championship standings. He races most regularly against Manuela Gostner, the 2025 Ferrari Challenge S champion, and Thomas Gostner, both of whom typically finish ahead of him. His strongest result against a higher-calibre opponent came against Claudio Schiavoni, an entry-level professional with European Le Mans Series and WEC experience; Scheltema has finished ahead of Schiavoni five times. Kessel Racing, his team throughout his career, fields a roster of 116 drivers and has won 77 races at the level of the index, with its strongest driver being established professional James Calado.[2]
