Gerald Isbell is a club racer, at the developing end of that level with a Racer Rating of 1,052. His three seasons in PCA Club Racing between 2006 and 2008 produced one podium from 11 starts, and he finished an average of P7.8 across all classified races. This is the entry level of competitive motorsport, where drivers are still building experience in fields that do not meet professionals.[1]

Isbell's record against his most frequent rivals shows a mixed picture typical of a developing driver in close club competition. He lost consistently to Glen Gatlin, the 2007 PCA Club Racing GTC4 champion, finishing behind him in all seven shared races. Against other club-level competitors of similar standing, such as Ray Arthur and Raymond A Williams, he achieved roughly even results. He also competed occasionally against stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Scott Sharp, a much more accomplished professional rated at the elite level, once, though this is a single result rather than evidence of a pattern.

Isbell's racing career concluded in 2008 after limited activity. His solitary podium came late in his final season in PCA Club Racing, and he has since retired from competition.
