Jason Moritz competed in NASA racing from 2014 to 2017, accumulating 28 starts in Mazda Miata competition. His Racer Rating of 408 places him at the developing level of competitive racing; that rating reflects limited success against a field composed mostly of club-level drivers. Across his four seasons, Moritz finished without a win or podium, averaging a ninth-place finish when classified. His most recent activity came in 2017, when he completed seven rounds and finished 126th.[1]
Moritz's head-to-head record against his most frequent rivals tells a consistent story of outmatching at his own level but struggling when competition strengthened. He held a positive record against club-rated drivers such as Keith Williamson, Dylan Stancil and Bill Miller, yet finished well behind them overall across their shared races. Against semi-professional or professional opposition, the gap widened considerably; Bayani Dia, rated semi-professional at 2,051, beat him 16 times from 19 meetings despite Moritz winning three of those encounters. His single victories over stronger drivers such as FIA Silver graded Ashton Harrison and multiple-time SCCA Majors champion Danny Steyn represent isolated upsets rather than patterns. His career ended in 2017, leaving him with no championship success and no clear momentum toward professional racing.[2]
