Dylan Stancil was a club-level racer competing in NASA's national multiclass championship between 2014 and 2019. He drove a Mazda MX-5 Miata in the Spec Miata class, one of 15 classes sharing the track in single races that mixed amateur, semi-professional and graded professional entrants.[1]
Over six seasons, Stancil started 42 races and took 2 wins and 9 podiums. His record placed him mid-field in the Spec Miata class. His most regular opponents were Keith Williamson, whom he raced closely, and Bayani Dia, who typically finished ahead of him. He finished 88th in the series standings in his final partial season of 2019, which comprised two rounds.[2]
Stancil occasionally raced ahead of stronger drivers, beating Silver-graded entry-level professional Ashton Harrison twice and Jean-François Brunot, a Silver-graded entry-level professional and 2022 24H Series GTX champion, once. The bulk of his competition, however, sat at his own club level or slightly above.
