Jim Pastorius is a developing amateur racer who competed in NASA, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur and professional drivers in a single field. He raced Chevrolet Camaros in the CMC and CMC2 classes, which run modified American pony cars, across six seasons from 2008 to 2013.[1]
Over 46 starts in NASA, Pastorius took three wins and fifteen podiums. His most recent activity came in 2013, when he finished 49th in the championship standings across two rounds. He was closely matched against Marc Bennett, another developing driver with 71 NASA starts, and typically finished behind Mike Morris, who also races at the developing level. Among stronger opposition, Pastorius beat Brian Cates, a competitive amateur with extensive experience in NASA and SCCA road racing, once, and finished ahead of Matt Deming, a club-level driver, four times across their meetings.[2]
