Joao Diaz is a competitive amateur who raced single-seater cars in 2023, competing in French F4 and Spanish F4. He made 20 starts across both championships, driving for Drivex School in the Spanish series.[1]

Diaz spent his sole season in the feeder formula landscape racing against a mix of amateur and professional drivers. In French F4 he contested 18 rounds; he then moved to Spanish F4 for a two-round campaign, where he finished 22nd in the season standings. His best results came against established professionals: he beat Griffin Peebles, an FIA Silver driver with substantial experience in Spanish F4 and European endurance racing, on one occasion, and similarly finished ahead of Theodor Jensen, another FIA Silver professional with a parallel background in Spanish F4 and international sportscar racing, once during the year.[2]

Against his regular competition in French F4, Diaz typically finished behind both Enzo Peugeot, the 2023 French F4 champion and an FIA Silver professional who has progressed to Formula Regional European, and Evan Giltaire, an established professional with 42 Formula Regional starts to his name. His brief time in Spanish F4 placed him in a field that included multiple drivers with substantial single-seater or sportscar credentials.
