Jochen Schäfer is a semi-professional racing in multiclass endurance championships. He competes in the Prototype Winter Series for KC2 Racing, driving an LMP3 prototype; his earlier work was in the national German endurance series at Nürburgring, where he drove production-based and near-standard cars in the SP 7 and V6 classes for raceunion Teichmann Racing.[1]
His record spans three seasons beginning in 2013, with six starts across two series. In the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie he contested four multiclass endurance rounds over 2013 and 2014, racing shared cars in a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. He has since moved to prototype racing; his current campaign in the Prototype Winter Series, which began in 2025, stands at 2 rounds completed and a 13th place in the championship standings.[2]
Against the regular field at Nürburgring, Schäfer typically finished behind Ivan Jacoma, a three-time V6 champion and a competitor across the 24H Series and international endurance racing, but ahead of Markus Schmickler, a two-time former champion of the V4 class. He has beaten professional-graded drivers including Georg Weiss, a two-time SP 7 champion with over 50 Nürburgring starts.
