John Green was a semi-professional driver who competed in the Star Mazda Championship across 2003 and 2004, earning a Racer Rating of 3,628. This places him in the semi-professional band, a level most commonly found in pro-am and one-make racing where drivers beat amateurs comfortably but do not sustain success among full professionals. His competitive record bears this out; across four starts he secured one podium finish and averaged a finishing position of 7.8, showing mid-pack consistency rather than front-running pace.[1]

Green's racing fell entirely within the Star Mazda Championship, competing for Star Race Cars across both seasons.
