John Rhodes was a British racing driver whose competitive record consisted of a single Formula 1 start in 1965. He drove a Cooper-Climax T60 at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone on 10 July 1965, provided for the race by veteran racer Bob Gerard. Rhodes retired from the race on lap 39 with ignition problems, finishing the round in 17th place. No wins or podium finishes were recorded across his racing career.[1]
Rhodes competed at a time when Formula 1 grids regularly included one-off or guest entries, particularly British drivers racing on home ground. His single Grand Prix appearance placed him among a large field of drivers who competed in the sport at the height of the classic era but did not sustain an ongoing career in the championship. He remained based in the United Kingdom, where his involvement in motorsport extended to other forms of competition.[2]
