Dries van der Lof was a Dutch industrialist and amateur racing driver who made a single Formula 1 start in the 1952 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, driving for HWM. He retired from the race after 70 laps without scoring championship points, finishing 23rd. Together with Jan Flinterman, he was among the first Dutch drivers to compete in a World Championship Grand Prix.[1]

Van der Lof's racing career was brief and limited to that one Formula 1 outing. His involvement in motorsport was a secondary pursuit to his primary work as a cable manufacturer. Following his Grand Prix appearance, he acquired a Maserati 250F and continued racing in amateur and historic events well into the 1980s, maintaining his connection to motorsport long after his championship-level competition had ended.[2]
