🇬🇧 Josh Irfan

Josh Irfan is a British racing driver at the semi-professional level, with a Racer Rating of 3,082. This places him among competitive mid-field drivers in pro-am and one-make racing; drivers at this level win occasional races in mixed fields but typically finish in the middle of full-professional grids. Irfan's career spans two seasons and 53 starts across three British junior single-seater championships from 2023 to 2024, where he scored two race wins and five podium finishes before retiring.[1]

Irfan's record shows a clear downward trajectory as fields strengthened. In his debut season of British F4 in 2023, he won twice for Rodin Carlin and finished on the podium in three races from 25 starts, outpacing a number of drivers who would later compete at higher levels, including occasional victories over Freddie Slater and James Wharton, both established professional-tier drivers. However, his move to GB4 with Elite Motorsport the same year produced only one podium from seven starts, and the subsequent step to GB3 with JHR Developments in 2024 saw him score one podium in 21 races. His head-to-head records against the series' strongest drivers tell the story: he finished behind Louis Sharp, the 2023 British F4 and 2024 GB3 champion, in 38 of 45 shared races, and behind William Macintyre, another front-running professional, in 36 of 45. Against Kai Daryanani, a driver rated some 600 points below, Irfan won their head-to-head 22 to 4 across 26 races, suggesting his level was genuinely competitive only against mid-field opposition. His average finish across all classified starts was eleventh place. Irfan has since retired from professional racing.[2]
