Julio Palacio is a developing amateur driver who raced in NASA and BMW CCA Club Racing, national solo single-seater championships mixing amateur and professional entrants on multiclass grids. He drove a spec BMW E30 3-series in the Spec E30 class and production-based street cars in the PTD class, primarily for a team fielding 197 drivers across the index.[1]

Between 2009 and 2014 Palacio made 65 starts across both series, taking one win and seven podiums. He raced most frequently in NASA, where he completed six full seasons and finished 20th in the championship standings in 2014. His single win came in NASA competition. Across his six years of racing he typically finished behind regular opponents Eric Palacio and Robert Levine, both of whom had substantially more experience in the same series.[2]

Palacio beat Evan Levine, an entry-level professional with 155 starts across BMW CCA Club Racing and NASA, on four occasions. He also finished ahead once of James Walker, a professional rated at FIA Silver who raced in Formula V8 3.5, WEC and Formula 3 Euro Series. Among a field that included drivers ranging from club level to graded professionals, Palacio sat at the developing end of the field.
