Kevin Butler was a developing-level driver who raced in national multiclass championships across a single-seater spec series and shared-car endurance competition. He competed in NASA's Spec E30 class, driving a BMW E30 3-series in solo sprint racing, and later raced Class 3 production-based cars in American Endurance Racing's multiclass endurance format.[1]
Butler made ten starts across three seasons between 2011 and 2012 in NASA competition, where he finished 81st in championship standings, and a four-start campaign in American Endurance Racing in 2022 that yielded one podium finish. His NASA entries came primarily with a BMW 325; in American Endurance Racing he raced a shared-drive Class 3 car.[2]
He typically finished behind established opponents in his regular fields. Among the drivers he faced most often were entry-level professional Evan Levine and club-level Eric Palacio, both with substantially more NASA experience, and Butler generally ran behind them. He finished ahead of competitive amateur David Herrington once and Silver-graded Colin Harrison, an accomplished GT4 America and McLaren Trophy competitor, once across his career.
