In 2022, his championship year, Mathys demonstrated front-running pace; his 2023 campaign yielded eight podiums across 13 rounds as he finished fourth in the final standings.[1]
Against his most frequent rivals, Mathys showed a mixed record. He trailed David Tuaty significantly across 18 shared races, winning their head-to-head only six times to Tuaty's twelve, and split evenly with one-time champion Stephen Hamman over sixteen encounters. He held a losing record against three-time champion Tom Pank, finishing ahead only five times in eleven races. Mathys was fatally injured in a crash at Daytona International Speedway during club racing in late October 2023, shortly after completing his final International GT season.
