Stephen Hamman was an entry-level professional competing in national multiclass sprint racing in the United States. He raced Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars in the GT4.0 and GT4.I classes of International GT between 2022 and 2024, alongside earlier seasons in PCA Club Racing Porsches and a single Trans-Am XGT entry in 2022.[1]
Hamman took the 2023 International GT championship with 23 wins from 40 starts across his three seasons in the series, finishing with 35 podiums there. He had raced PCA Club Racing for three seasons prior, scoring 4 wins and 9 podiums from 12 starts in the SP3 class. His sole Trans-Am outing came in 2022, where he finished sixth in the season standings and took a podium finish.[2]
In International GT, Hamman regularly finished ahead of semi-professional regular David Tuaty and proved closely matched against Mark Mathys, the 2022 International GT GT4.I champion. He also defeated Mike Skeen, a professional Silver-graded driver who is a 2020 Trans-Am TA2 champion with extensive IMSA WeatherTech experience, on five occasions.
