Mickey Thomas is a semi-professional racing driver whose career on record spans from 2016 to 2022. He competed primarily in NASA, a national multiclass sprint series run in the United States, driving a Porsche 944 in the 944 Spec class. In 2022 he made two starts in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin for Formidable Racing, a single-class championship that draws amateur and professional drivers.[1]

Across 22 NASA starts over six seasons Thomas took 13 wins and 17 podiums, establishing himself as a regular winner in his class. His two appearances in the Mazda MX-5 Cup that year yielded a 23rd-place championship finish. His record in NASA placed him among the faster drivers in a field that mixed competitors at all levels from amateurs through graded professionals, and he typically finished ahead of developing drivers such as John Torgersen and John Duffy who shared the grid regularly. He also beat professional-level drivers in individual races; he finished ahead of Anthony McIntosh, a FIA Bronze-graded professional and multiple Lamborghini Super Trofeo champion, once during their meetings, and ahead of Tyler Gonzalez, a FIA Silver-graded professional with extensive IMSA Pilot Challenge and GT4 America experience, once as well.[2]
