Mike Kelley is a competitive amateur racer competing in national solo sprint racing in the United States. He races modified production sports cars in the HP and HPI classes of SCCA Regionals and SCCA Majors, both multiclass national championships where amateur and semi-professional drivers share the grid with graded professionals.[1]
Kelley has raced for four seasons from 2022 to 2026, compiling 11 wins and 16 podiums across 21 starts. He took one win from five starts in SCCA Majors between 2022 and 2025, then moved to focus on SCCA Regionals, where he has won 10 times in 16 starts since 2024. In the current 2026 SCCA Regionals season, he has taken two wins and two podiums from three rounds raced so far and sits seventh in the championship standings.[2]
Kelley typically runs ahead of club-level regulars such as Enrik Benazic and Michael MacQueen, both of whom he has beaten consistently. He has also finished ahead of Tristan Herbert, a competitive amateur with an FIA Bronze grade and experience across multiple national series, on three occasions. Among the drivers he races in the SCCA multiclass grid, Kelley holds a record of outrunning competitors at his own level and occasionally the stronger amateurs and semi-professionals who compete in the same races.
