Mirko Torsellini is a semi-professional kart racer whose record spans two seasons of competition at the SKUSA SuperNationals, karting's premier international event. His rating of 3,000 places him among semi-professional drivers; those who win in pro-am and one-make classes and compete mid-pack in full professional fields. Across three starts at the SuperNationals between 2011 and 2012, Torsellini recorded one victory and one additional podium finish, averaging a third-place result.[1]

The significance of Torsellini's limited record lies in the calibre of drivers he defeated in those races. He finished ahead of Max Verstappen, then a developing junior kart driver who would later become a four-time Formula 1 world champion and one of the sport's elite professionals rated 9,977. He also beat Ben Hanley, a Gold-graded professional and former champion rated 5,136, as well as Indy Dontje, a Silver-graded professional rated 4,970.
