Fritz Leesmann is a semi-professional kart racer; his rating of 3,621 places him in that band, which describes drivers who win in pro-am and one-make classes and run mid-pack among full professionals. Across eight seasons from 2008 to 2015, Leesmann made 13 starts in the SKUSA SuperNationals, a programme that drew competitors ranging from club level to established professionals. He scored two podium finishes without a win, averaging a ninth-place finish overall.[1]
Leesmann's record against his regular rivals shows a competitive but uneven head-to-head picture. He maintained a winning record over Gary Carlton and Matt Jaskol, both semi-professional drivers, splitting six races with each; he was consistently faster than Tyler Bennett and Joey Wimsett, beating them in four of five shared races apiece. Against Ron White, a slightly stronger semi-professional, Leesmann won the majority of their encounters, five of six. These results place him in the middle tier of a field of mid-level professionals and semi-professionals.
His most notable individual results came against much stronger opposition; he finished ahead of Max Verstappen once in 2012, and beat Oliver Askew, an FIA Silver graded driver and national champion, in one race each. He also outfinished AJ Allmendinger, an FIA Gold professional, on two occasions. However, these results were isolated instances rather than patterns of competitive advantage, and Leesmann's career closed after 2015 without establishing himself as a regular front-runner at SuperNationals level.
