AJ Allmendinger is an established professional driver competing full-time in NASCAR's Cup Series for Kaulig Racing, driving the No. 16 Chevrolet, and part-time in the Truck Series. He holds an FIA Gold grade in sportscar racing. His primary racing has been across NASCAR's national and regional series and occasional endurance entries, spanning nearly two decades of professional competition in oval and road-course racing.[1]

Allmendinger has recorded 20 wins across 336 starts from 2007 through 2026. His most successful single series is NASCAR Xfinity, where he took 17 wins and 39 podiums in 130 starts, primarily for Penske Racing. In NASCAR Cup, he has run 187 starts with 3 wins and 7 podiums since 2018, competing on ovals for the vast majority of those entries but also running selected road courses. He has made six IndyCar starts and competed in IMSA's multiclass endurance championship, where he has raced DPi, GTD and GTP classes across six starts for Acura Meyer Shank Racing.[2]

In Cup Series racing, Allmendinger regularly contends against established professionals including 2022 champion Ross Chastain and 2022 Xfinity champion Noah Gragson, with whom he has matched results across multiple seasons. He has finished ahead of far stronger drivers including 2025 Cup champion Denny Hamlin and established professional Ryan Blaney, each of whom he has beaten multiple times despite their greater frequency of starts and higher career success rates. His record at the highest levels of stock car racing places him firmly in the mid-field of a competitive national series.
