Peter West is a developing-level amateur competitor in solo open-wheel racing. He races 2-liter Formula Continental cars in SCCA multiclass championships, competing in both the national Majors series and regional rounds across the United States.[1]
West's career spans three seasons from 2021 to 2023, with 27 starts across SCCA Majors, SCCA Regionals and the Runoffs. He took two wins and eleven podiums in that span. He won once in each of the Majors and Regionals, where his five and six podiums respectively accounted for most of his finishes on the board. His single Runoffs appearance came in 2021.[2]
West typically finished behind the stronger regulars in his field. Troy Shooter, who won the 2022 SCCA Majors FC championship and the 2023 SCCA Regionals FC title, was a regular opponent who usually beat him. He raced occasionally against semi-professional drivers and had one finish ahead of each of Chris Scharnow and Trent Walko.
