Phillip Martien is a developing amateur racer who competed in club-level Porsche racing across the United States over fourteen seasons from 2007 to 2024. He raced primarily in PCA Club Racing, a national multiclass championship mixing amateur and professional entrants, where he drove Porsches in the GTA, GTA2 and GTA3 classes; in the final three years of his career he also started six times in Porsche Carrera Cup NA, the marque's dedicated single-make cup series, where he drove the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup with Goldcrest Motorsports.[1]
Across fifty-two starts, Martien took two wins and ten podiums, both victories coming in PCA Club Racing. He raced regularly against Grady Willingham, a club-level racer with deeper experience across multiple Porsche series, and typically finished behind him; he was closely matched with Eric Boueilh, a developing driver and 2008 PCA Club Racing GTA champion. Martien finished tenth in the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup NA championship standings in his final season of competition.[2]
Martien occasionally finished ahead of stronger drivers. He beat Marco Cirone, an entry-level professional and two-time champion, once on track; he also beat Scott Noble, a Bronze-graded entry-level professional and 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup NA Am champion, in a single meeting between the two.
