🇩🇪 Rene Steiger

Rene Steiger is a competitive amateur racing in national multiclass endurance championships at the Nürburgring. He competes in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a championship that runs shared-car races across fifteen classes in a mixed field of amateurs and semi-professionals alongside graded professionals, and races both TCR touring cars and front-wheel-drive turbocharged production machinery. His most recent outing was the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2026, where he took a podium finish so far in that ongoing season.[1]

Steiger has six starts across his indexed record from 2023 onwards. He has finished behind the same semi-professional regulars, Joachim Nett and Jürgen Nett, consistently throughout his time in the Langstrecken-Serie. His single podium came at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, where he races an SP 3T class turbocharged production-based race car. He has raced for different teams across his career; his most frequent entry has been Car 482 in the Langstrecken-Serie.[2]

In his limited starts Steiger has finished ahead of entry-level professionals including Christian Klien, a former Formula 1 driver, and Norbert Siedler, a GT World Challenge Europe regular. These were single occasions rather than patterns of results, and they stand against a record of consistently mid-field finishes in a field of semi-professional and amateur endurance drivers at the Nürburgring.
