Richie Bocanegra holds a Racer Rating of 1,228, placing him in the developing band; this describes a driver with very limited racing experience, typically at the back of club fields or with too few races on record to have established a consistent competitive level. His entire racing career consisted of three starts in BMW CCA Club Racing during 2022, where he scored one win and two podiums. His average finishing position across those three races was 2.7.[1]

Bocanegra raced in a field populated by semi-professional and club-level competitors. He finished ahead of Bennett Muldoon, the 2022 BMW CCA Club Racing Spec E46 champion, in all three shared races; this is the notable distinction in his limited record. He also beat Evan Levine, a NASA Spec E46 champion, once, and took two wins against David Pan. However, he posted a losing head-to-head record against Jesse Clark, a two-time BMW CCA champion who rates considerably stronger, finishing behind Clark in two of their three meetings. Against other regular rivals such as Greg Hartman and Jonathan Adams, Bocanegra finished behind them in all shared races.

His career ended after 2022 and he is now retired from racing.
