🇩🇪 Roland Froese

Roland Froese is a semi-professional endurance racing driver from Germany with a Racer Rating of 2,541, placing him in the competitive amateur band; this level describes drivers who race regularly against professionals in pro-am and one-make classes. He held FIA Silver grading, the professional-level categorisation for sportscar and endurance racing, typically assigned to young or early-career drivers competing in that discipline. His racing career on record spans three seasons from 2020 to 2023, comprising three starts at the Nürburgring 24 Hours for Teichmann Racing.[1]

Froese scored one podium finish across his three entries in the endurance classic. His average finishing position of 4.5 places him in the front of the field at a race that routinely fields large grids of mixed professional and amateur entries. In isolated instances he finished ahead of drivers considerably above his rating, including Phil Hill, the 1961 Formula 1 World Champion and a Silver-graded professional, as well as higher-rated semi-professional Silver drivers such as Hendrik Still and Constantin Schöll. Teichmann Racing, the team that fielded him for two of those starts, has not recorded race wins in the index and has operated primarily as a development outfit for drivers in this category.

Froese retired from racing after his 2023 Nürburgring 24 Hours entry. The limited volume of his racing record, three starts in a single endurance event across four years, reflects a part-time involvement in the sport rather than a sustained professional career.
