Scott Knott is a developing amateur racer competing in national multiclass sprint championships. He races spec BMW E30s in NASA's Spec E30 class and production-based sports cars in SCCA Regionals' EP and ITS classes, fielded by BMW.[1]
Knott has competed steadily across two series since 2013, with 23 starts and six podiums. His first spell in NASA from 2013 to 2017 yielded three podium finishes across 19 starts. He has returned to racing in 2026 with SCCA Regionals, where he has taken two podiums from three rounds run so far and currently sits 27th in the championship standings as the season continues.[2]
He races against semi-professional and competitive amateur fields. Among regular opponents, he typically finishes behind Scott McKay, a semi-professional with 151 NASA starts, and Carlos Mendez, a competitive amateur with 98 NASA starts. He has beaten both McKay and Josh Smith, a semi-professional FIA Silver driver, in individual races; his two wins over Smith, who raced British F4, represent his strongest results against established competition.
