Stephen Dial is a competitive amateur driver rated 2,644, a level that encompasses the front of club racing and regional competition; drivers at this rating are quick within their own fields but do not consistently race against full professionals. His record spans four seasons from 2016 to 2021, all contested in the SKUSA SuperNationals, where he made four starts without recording a win or podium finish. He averaged a finishing position of 15th across his classified races.[1]

Dial's head-to-head record against his most frequent rivals was largely negative. He finished behind Pauly Massimino in all three shared races, and trailed both Oliver Calvo and Austin Osborne in two of three encounters with each. His most notable results came in isolated instances against much stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Broc Feeney, an FIA Gold-graded professional and 2025 Supercars champion, once, and ahead of Jonny Edgar, an FIA Silver-graded professional and winner of the 2020 ADAC Formula 4 and 2024 European Le Mens Series LMP2 championships, once. He also defeated Nick Persing, an FIA Silver professional, twice. These results were exceptions to the pattern of his overall record rather than evidence of consistent performance at a higher level.
