In head-to-head racing, Miinch typically finished behind Gustavo Menezes, an established professional and FIA Gold-graded driver who won the 2016 WEC LMP2 championship, and ahead of Brendan Phinny, a fellow semi-professional with four SuperNationals starts. Miinch beat two established professionals: Dan Wheldon, who won the 2005 IndyCar championship and raced 135 rounds in that series, and Michael Valiante, a FIA Silver-graded driver who won the 2015 IMSA WeatherTech championship.[2]
