Tim Probert is a competitive amateur racer, FIA Bronze graded, racing in national multiclass endurance and sprint championships in the United States. He has spent the bulk of his career with Murillo Racing, a team fielding multiple drivers across IMSA's professional and amateur grids. Probert has raced shared-car endurance events in IMSA Pilot Challenge across its GS and ST classes, production-based GT4 and modified-production machinery, and has also competed in solo sprint racing through IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge in GT4 equipment and NASA's spec-class championships.[1]
Over 14 indexed seasons from 2005 to 2026, Probert has accumulated 118 starts across five series. He also raced the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup for ALARA Racing in 2016 and 2017, competing in 16 starts there, and earlier ran NASA's spec-class grid from 2005 to 2007 with a single podium from 12 starts. His most recent appearance was a one-off drive in a 1971 Datsun 510 at the 2026 Velocity Invitational.[2]
Probert typically runs mid-field in fields mixing amateurs and semi-professionals with entry-level and established professionals. He regularly races Jeff Mosing, a 2025 SVRA Group 8 champion and fellow Bronze-graded semi-professional, and usually finishes behind him; Eric Foss, a FIA Silver entry-level professional and 2017 IMSA Pilot Challenge ST champion, is another regular opponent who typically outpaces him. Probert has occasionally beaten considerably stronger drivers; he finished ahead of Chase Briscoe, an elite professional and former ARCA champion with 226 NASCAR Cup starts, five times across their meetings, and beat Austin Cindric, an established professional and two-time NASCAR Xfinity champion, once.
