Tom Sheehan is a semi-professional racing in a single-class national championship, competing in Trans-Am TA2 driving a tube-frame V8 silhouette car. Sheehan has made one appearance in the upper-tier Trans-Am multiclass championship and tested in SVRA's multiclass format.[1]
Sheehan has accumulated 71 starts in TA2 across eight full seasons through 2025, where he was competing for Mike Cope Racing. His record in the series places him in the middle order of a field that includes entry-level professionals; Rafa Matos, a 2021 TA2 champion and former IndyCar driver, and Keith Prociuk, a regular TA2 competitor with 65 starts in the series, typically finish ahead of him. He has beaten stronger drivers in isolated instances: Christopher Bell, an elite professional and 2024 NASCAR Cup Series champion, finished behind him once, as did Ty Gibbs, a two-time ARCA Menards Series champion, on three occasions.
