Yasuhiro Takasaki is a competitive amateur driver with a Racer Rating of 2,812; this places him in the club racing band, the level of regional competition and real results outside the professional sphere. His racing career consisted of a single start in the 2008 Super GT season, driving for Team Shadow. He finished 40th in that outing and did not score points or podiums.[1]
Despite the brevity of his record, Takasaki achieved notable finishes against established professionals. He finished ahead of Yuhi Sekiguchi, a Gold-graded driver and champion of the 2021 Super GT; Hiroaki Ishiura, a Platinum-graded professional; Toranosuke Takagi, a well-regarded driver in the series; and André Couto, a Silver-graded competitor. These results represent isolated instances rather than a sustained pattern of competitive success, but they indicate that Takasaki was capable of mixing with much stronger drivers in a top-tier sportscar field.
Takasaki is now retired from racing. His career remains defined by that single appearance in one of motorsport's premier endurance championships, a fleeting presence that yielded no ongoing involvement in organised competition.
