Andre Gies is a competitive amateur driver, FIA Silver graded, racing in multiclass endurance championships at the Nürburgring. Between 2013 and 2018 he competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in shared-drive endurance races, piloting both turbocharged production-based cars in the SP 3T class and near-standard production machinery in the V4 class. His final start came in the 2019 Nürburgring 24 Hours in a TCR touring car for FEV Racing.[1]
Gies made five starts across six years, racing regularly against fellow amateurs and semi-professionals on a grid that included graded professionals. He typically finished ahead of Cedrik Totz, a competitive amateur regular in the Langstrecken-Serie, and took individual finishes against stronger opposition including David Pittard, a professional driver and 2020 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie SP 9 Pro champion with extensive experience in GT World Challenge Europe.[2]
