🏳️ Austin Schaff

Austin Schaff holds a Racer Rating of 2,008, placing him in the competitive amateur band; this is the level of drivers regularly racing in club and regional events, quick enough to compete but not yet running consistently at the front of established fields. His record consists of a single start in the 2017 SKUSA SuperNationals, a major karting championship, where he finished outside the points. He is now retired from racing.[1]

Despite the brevity of his record, Schaff finished ahead of several drivers who would later establish themselves at much higher levels. He beat Franco Colapinto, who went on to become a Platinum-graded professional now competing in Formula 1; Lochie Hughes, who won the 2022 US Formula 4 championship; and Luca Mars, a professional sportscar driver with multiple IMSA titles. These results came from a single event in 2017 and do not constitute a sustained competitive pattern, but they show that on that one occasion Schaff was quicker than rivals who have since progressed to genuinely elite racing.
