Austin Theng is a developing driver racing in NASA's national amateur and semi-professional Spec Miata series, a single-driver championship that draws competitors from club through professional level. He has also made two starts in the ChampCar Endurance Series, where he shared a 1987 BMW 325 iS in its C class for Wee Bee Racing. His rating of 1,077 places him among developing competitors; drivers at this level are still building race craft and have limited track record against established opposition.[1]
Theng has completed four seasons of racing from 2023 onward, accumulating 21 starts across NASA and the one-off ChampCar outings. He has taken three podiums to date. In his current 2026 NASA campaign, he sits 36th in the championship standings after six rounds, with all three of his podiums coming this season so far. Against his regular NASA opponents, he runs closely matched with Thomas Gennosa, another developing driver, while typically finishing behind Tom Corona. His best result against stronger opposition came when he finished ahead of Chandler Smith, a professional with over 100 NASCAR Truck starts and 71 Xfinity starts, though Smith has beaten him five times in their meetings.[2]
