Benedikt Gentgen is a semi-professional who raced in multiclass endurance series at the Nürburgring between 2017 and 2019. He drove TCR touring cars and near-standard production cars for FEV Racing, sharing his entries in the national Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie and making one start in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals across 17 classes.[1]
Gentgen took two wins and six podiums across 11 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie across two seasons. He finished ahead of established professionals Fabio Leimer, a former GP2 champion and WEC competitor, and Nicola Larini, a 50-time Formula 1 driver and 107-time WTCC regular, in single meetings each. Against his most frequent rivals he was inconsistent; he regularly finished behind Andreas Gülden, a three-time Langstrecken-Serie champion and FIA Bronze-graded professional with 69 starts in that series alone, but usually ran ahead of Hermann Bock, a semi-professional regular in the same races.[2]
