Chip Romer is a Bronze-graded amateur competing in national multiclass sprint racing across several series. He drives for ONE Motorsports in Radical Cup NA, racing open-wheel prototypes in the L1 class, and has been active since 2014. His Racer Rating of 1,437 places him in the club category, racing alongside semi-professional and professional competitors.[1]
Romer won the 2015 PCA Club Racing championship in the GTA2 class, Porsche-focused racing in which he compiled 16 wins from 31 starts and finished on the podium in 27 of those races. He has since raced in SCCA Majors, where he scored 6 wins in 13 starts, and claimed the SCCA Regionals title in 2023. His current campaign in Radical Cup NA, where he races regularly against Wayne Williams, a Platinum-graded professional and 2025 series champion, has yielded one win and ten podiums from 31 starts. He took a podium at the 2024 SCCA Runoffs.[2]
The fields he races in mix club drivers with semi-professionals and graded professionals. In PCA Club Racing he regularly finished ahead of Andy Wilzoch, a two-time GTA2 champion, and has beaten the Gold-graded professional Elliott Skeer and the professional Mark Martin in isolated meetings across his career. His record in Radical Cup NA shows him closely matched with Williams across repeated head-to-head racing at that series' level.
