He races the TA class of Trans-Am, driving a tube-frame V8 silhouette car, and has made scattered starts in national road racing over five seasons from 2019 to 2024, most recently in Trans-Am where he finished 17th in the 2023 championship standings.[1]
His record spans six indexed starts across three series: four in Trans-Am between 2019 and 2023, one in the SCCA Runoffs in 2020, and one in SCCA Majors in 2024. Trans-Am put him against established competitors in the TA class. He typically finished behind the series' dominant figures; Chris Dyson won the TA championship in four consecutive years from 2021 to 2024, and Burtin raced against him without regular success. Tomy Drissi, an entry-level professional with extensive Trans-Am experience, was another regular rival who usually outfinished him. Burtin's strongest result was a finish ahead of Ernie Francis Jr., the 2019 and 2020 Trans-Am TA champion and a driver who would go on to race Indy NXT and claim the 2024 Lamborghini Super Trofeo NA Pro title.[2]
