Chris Dyson is an American racing driver whose career began in earnest with Dyson Racing, the family team owned by his father Rob Dyson, where he competed in the American Le Mans Series from 2002 to 2013. During that tenure he built a reputation as a versatile sports car racer, claiming the LMP675 Drivers title in 2003 and adding the LMP1 Championship in 2011. Beyond his cockpit duties, Dyson has also served as Vice President and Sporting Director of Dyson Racing, giving him a broader role in shaping the team's operations. In more recent years he has shifted his focus to the Trans-Am Series, competing under the CD Racing banner in the TA class.[1]
In Trans-Am, Dyson has established himself as one of the category's most accomplished active competitors, with 30 career starts producing 8 wins and 21 podium finishes. He has claimed two championships in the series, in 2023 and 2024, cementing his standing among the discipline's top performers. His current Racer Rating of 3,380 places him 721st among active drivers on the Elo-style scale used to compare competitors across motorsport. The 2026 season has been comparatively quiet so far, with no wins or podiums through two rounds and a P35 position in the standings, though Dyson remains an active competitor in the series where he has enjoyed his greatest recent success.[2]
