Dalton Peak was a competitive amateur racing in the Lucas Oil Formula Car Race Series, a national single-class championship for formula cars run in the United States. He competed in the series' Championship class in 2017, his only indexed season of racing.[1]
Peak took one win and three podiums across fourteen starts in 2017, finishing sixth in the championship standings. He was closely matched with fellow competitive amateur Ethan Billions, with whom he was a regular opponent throughout the season. He typically finished behind professional-level driver Aaron Jeansonne, a much more experienced competitor with extensive racing in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, NASA, and Porsche Carrera Cup; Peak finished ahead of him three times nonetheless. He also beat Myles Rowe, a professional who would later win the 2023 USF Pro 2000 championship and go on to Indy NXT.[2]
