David Drinkwater is a competitive amateur racing in international and national multiclass endurance championships. He competes in the 24H Series, which spans 13 countries and mixes amateurs with graded professionals on the same grid, and in the Nürburgring 24 Hours and Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, both run in Germany. His cars are production-based and near-standard machinery across multiple classes: BMW M240i Racing, TCR, and turbocharged or naturally aspirated production touring cars. He has raced for Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport, Breakell Racing, and RKC/TGM Motorsport.[1]

Drinkwater has completed 11 starts across three series since 2017, taking two podiums. Both came in endurance racing on the Nürburgring circuit; one in the 24H Series in 2017 or 2018 and one in the Nürburgring 24 Hours between 2019 and 2025. He has raced the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie three times without a podium finish. His most recent outing was the 2025 Nürburgring 24 Hours.[2]

Drinkwater typically finishes behind Kim Holmgaard, a semi-professional regular in the 24H Series with nine starts there, and is closely matched with Bernd Küpper, a fellow competitive amateur who has contested the same events far more extensively across 53 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie alone. He has finished ahead of Christian Scherer, a Bronze-graded professional with 31 starts in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, and David Pittard, a Silver-graded professional and 2020 Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie champion who has raced across GT World Challenge Europe and the Nürburgring events.
