Diego Ciantini is a semi-professional driver from Argentina with a rating of 3,246, placing him in the competitive amateur band; this means he raced successfully at club and regional level but did not establish himself in the professional ranks. His single recorded season came in 2016, when he contested Italian F4 and ADAC Formula 4 across 25 starts for Jenzer Motorsport. He scored one podium finish in Italian F4 and averaged 15th place across all starts, competing against a field that included several drivers who would go on to establish themselves at the international professional level.[1]

Ciantini's head-to-head record against his most frequent rivals tells a consistent story of a driver outmatched by the strongest competitors in his field. Against Juri Vips, who would win the 2017 ADAC Formula 4 championship, Ciantini finished ahead only four times in twenty shared races.
