He raced most often against established professionals including Chad Little and Jason Keller, drivers with vastly deeper experience in the series; Stephens typically finished behind them. He beat professional Elton Sawyer eight times across their meetings and recorded one finish ahead of Eddie Johnson, a professional who had also raced Formula 1.[2]
