Joe Pruskowski was an entry-level professional racing solo in the Star Mazda Championship, a single-class national series that fielded amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals together. His only indexed season came in 2002, when he contested the full nine-round championship.[1]
Pruskowski finished sixth in the 2002 Star Mazda Championship standings. He raced regularly against Justin Pruskowski and John Olsen, both entry-level professionals competing in the same series; he typically finished behind Pruskowski but was closely matched with Olsen across the season. He finished ahead of Ryan Justice, a professional with 44 Star Mazda starts, once, and ahead of James Gue, an established professional who later raced IMSA WeatherTech, once.[2]
