Katsuhiko Tsutsui was a professional racing driver competing in the GT300 class of Super GT, a national multiclass endurance championship run in Japan in which two drivers share each car across a race. He raced for Team Mach, a small operation fielding a mix of FIA GT3 cars and Japanese-built GT300 specials. His career on record spans four seasons from 2008 to 2011, during which he made ten starts in the series.[1]
Tsutsui's Super GT tenure ran from 2008 through 2011, with his most recent indexed activity in 2011 when he finished 17th in the championship standings across two rounds. Throughout his time in the series he regularly competed against established professionals including Nobuteru Taniguchi, a three-time Super GT GT300 champion and FIA Silver graded driver, and Kazuki Hoshino, the 2010 Super GT GT300 champion. Tsutsui typically finished behind both drivers. He did, however, beat Yuhi Sekiguchi, an established professional and FIA Gold graded driver who would later win the 2021 Super GT GT500 championship, on three occasions, and finished ahead of Hiroaki Ishiura, a Platinum graded professional with over 150 Super GT starts, once.[2]
