🇯🇵 Kazuki Hoshino

Kazuki Hoshino is a professional driver competing in Super GT, the Japanese national endurance championship, where each car is shared between two or more drivers across multiclass GT racing. He spent 14 seasons with Gainer in the series from 2008 to 2021, taking 10 wins and 20 podiums across 112 starts. He is the son of Kazuyoshi Hoshino, co-founder of Team Impul, and has served as team principal there since his semi-retirement.[1]

Hoshino was a two-time GT300 class champion in Super GT; his 2010 title came with Hasemi Motor Sport. He finished 14th in the 2021 championship standings in what proved to be his final indexed season. He also contested two rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in 2015 with Nissan GT Academy Team RJN, racing a GT3 car in the SP 9 class of that multiclass endurance championship.[2]

His regular opponents in Super GT included Nobuteru Taniguchi, himself a three-time GT300 champion, whom Hoshino raced closely across multiple seasons. He finished ahead of Hiroki Katoh, a professional who appeared in 124 Super GT starts, on most of their meetings. In shared-car endurance racing he occasionally encountered drivers of vastly higher international standing; he beat the IndyCar champion Alex Palou twice and the Super GT and Super Formula race-winner Sho Tsuboi four times across their meetings in GT300.
