Yelmer Buurman is a professional endurance racing driver with an FIA Platinum grading, the highest category in sportscar competition. He races GT3 cars in multiclass championships, primarily in the British GT Championship for RAM Racing and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie for Konrad Motorsport, where he shares the driving across the duration of each race with teammates.[1]

Buurman's career spans 18 seasons from 2004 onward, moving between single-seaters in his early years and transitioning to endurance racing in the 2010s. He won the 2021 British GT Championship, taking one win and four further podiums across his 14 starts in that series. In the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, his most frequent campaign, he has scored two wins and four podiums from 26 starts. He has also taken two wins in the 24 Hours Series, a multiclass endurance championship drawing competitors from amateur through professional grades. His early single-seater record included 22 starts in the Formula 3 Euro Series and an entry into GP2 in 2008, producing a podium finish.[2]

Buurman races regularly against established professionals in shared-car endurance fields. He has finished ahead of Sebastian Vettel, the four-time Formula 1 world champion, once; he meets Romain Grosjean, an established professional with 181 Formula 1 starts and two-time GP2 champion, regularly but usually in secondary positions. His record against James Jakes, an entry-level professional, has been closely matched. He began his indexed career at Manor Motorsport, which has fielded Lewis Hamilton among 27 drivers across its history.
