Jazeman Jaafar is a professional driver competing in solo open-wheel racing across single-class series. He raced primarily in the Formula 3 Euro Series and FIA Formula 3 European between 2011 and 2012 for Carlin, then moved to Formula V8 3.5 with Fortec Motorsports from 2013 to 2015. He is currently active in Super GT, having made his debut in the 2025 season.[1]
Over seven seasons spanning 2010 to 2025, Jaafar accumulated 83 starts across Formula 3 competitions and Formula V8 3.5, taking two wins and 15 podiums. His Formula 3 Euro Series campaign with Carlin in 2011 and 2012 yielded one win and three podiums from 13 starts. He competed in the FIA Formula 3 European in the same period, recording five podiums from 18 starts. In Formula V8 3.5, a step up in machinery, he contested 43 rounds with Fortec between 2013 and 2015, taking one win and seven podiums. His 2025 Super GT entry marks a return to racing after a decade away from indexed competition, and he currently sits 16th in the championship standings with one round completed.[2]
Jaafar's record is marked by consistent competition against drivers who went on to establish themselves at a higher level. He raced regularly alongside Carlos Sainz and William Buller throughout his Formula 3 and V8 3.5 campaigns, finishing ahead of both on multiple occasions. He beat Pierre Gasly three times; Gasly went on to become an elite professional and Formula 1 driver. Against these opponents Jaafar remained closely matched, though his own progression stalled at the professional level of the open-wheel ladder, never advancing to the categories where Sainz and Gasly competed regularly.
