Doug Hartz is a club-level driver who raced in American Endurance Racing, a multiclass endurance championship where production-based cars from multiple classes share the grid. He competed across four seasons from 2015 to 2018, splitting his entries between the Class 1 and Class Indy fields.[1]
Hartz made seven starts in American Endurance Racing over that span, finishing 38th in the championship standings in 2018 when he contested two rounds. His record shows him regularly finishing behind his most frequent competitors; Anthony Lepore Jr., a Class Indy champion, and Panagioti Theodorakopoulos, who won the Class 3 title in 2019, both typically outpaced him. He finished ahead of Eric Rockwell, a semi-professional with 36 American Endurance Racing starts and significant IMSA experience, on two occasions, and beat Ryan Hall, an entry-level professional with a Bronze FIA grade, once.[2]
