🇩🇪 Elmar Jurek

Elmar Jurek was a competitive amateur racing in national multiclass endurance championships at the Nürburgring. He competed in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie from 2010 to 2019, sharing crewed cars in classes ranging from the Cup 1 category to the GT4-based Cup 3 class and SP 3 production-based machinery. His final racing came in 2019 when he took a podium finish in a near-standard production car in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.[1]

Across nine seasons in the Langstrecken-Serie, Jurek took 12 wins and 26 podiums from 53 starts. He won the 2012 championship in the series driving Car #701, a car that proved competitive enough to field 15 drivers across its racing life and accumulate 15 wins overall. Beyond that title, Jurek was a regular presence in the field, closely matched with Marcel Hartl, another competitive amateur with 56 Langstrecken-Serie starts of his own, and typically finishing ahead of fellow regular Peter Utsch.[2]

The fields Jurek raced in mixed amateurs and semi-professionals with graded professionals in the same multiclass grid. He finished ahead of Ahmad Al Harthy, a professional who went on to race the WEC and GT World Challenge Europe; and once ahead of Jamie Chadwick, a three-time W Series champion and professional-graded driver who also competed in GB3 and Indy NXT.
