🏳️ Hiroshi Hatano

Hiroshi Hatano races club-level in the SCCA Regionals, a national amateur and semi-professional multiclass championship held entirely in the United States. He competes in the ITA and STL classes, which run production-based cars with limited modifications and small-bore tuner cars respectively. His rating of 1,441 places him at club level, racing among amateurs and semi-professionals in mixed fields that draw graded professionals.[1]

Hatano has raced across five series since 2010, with 44 starts yielding 11 wins and 31 podiums. His record is concentrated in SCCA Regionals, where he has taken 11 wins and 30 podiums from 34 starts since 2022. He has made occasional forays into other championships; three starts in NASA produced no wins or podiums, three starts in American Endurance Racing yielded one podium from shared-car racing, and four starts in PCA Club Racing in 2010–2014 produced no results. In 2025, he sits 60th in the SCCA Regionals championship after two rounds contested, with one podium so far.[2]

Hatano runs evenly against the regulars he races most often; his record against Brendan Frain and Kyle Colbey, both frequent opponents in SCCA Regionals, is closely matched. His strongest single result on record came against Misha Goikhberg, a professional-level driver graded FIA Bronze who has 92 starts in IMSA WeatherTech, 37 in Trans-Am TA2 and eight in American Endurance Racing; Hatano finished ahead of him once.
